When you have specific dietaries, there are just some things you can never go out and order/buy. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out, you simply make a dietary friendly version yourself!

It’s been a hella long time since this gal has had a Samosa so I’ve gone and created a super dietary friendly, nutritious and #balanced version that everyone can enjoy!

Made with a gluten free wrap instead of pastry and high protein curry flavoured @flexiblefoodsau plant-based mince, these samosas are super easy to make and perfect for any dietary!

Ingredients (makes 6 large samosas)

FILLING

  • 1 packet @flexiblefoodsau Taste of India Plant-based Mince

  • 2 small white potatoes, diced into 1cm chunks

  • 1/2 onion, diced

  • 1/2 cup green peas

PASTE

  • 2 tbsp gluten free plain flour

  • 4-5 tbsp water

PASTRY

  • 3 gluten free tortilla wraps

Method

  1. Start by steaming the potatoes by placing them in a steaming pot oven the stove and steam until you can easily poke with a fork.

  2. Rehydrate the @flexibkefoodsau mince by following the simple instructions on the packet.

  3. Then, heat a non stick fry pan over high heat with a little olive oil and add in the onion. Sauté until translucent. Then add in the peas, potato and mince. Combine and remove from heat and set aside.

  4. Combine the flour and water in a small bowl and mix to form a paste.

  5. Now it’s time to assemble! Cut tortilla down the middle, fold one side over towards the center and add a little paste then bring the other end up and over the pasted end and seal to form a cone. Add filling and seal the remaining open end with the paste. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

  6. Spray samosas with a little olive oil and airfry at 200C for 8 mins, flip and spray with oil again, then cook for another 8 mins.

  7. Serve immediately with some sweet chilli sauce! Reheat any leftovers in the airfryer or oven.
